Testing Information and Resources
Advanced Placement examinations are exams offered by the College Board and are taken each May by students. The tests are the culmination of year-long Advanced Placement courses. AP exams are in the spring. Once we have the schedule for Spring 2026 exam dates we will update this website.
The PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a standardized test that we administer to 10th and 11th grade students. Considered to be a "preliminary SAT," the PSAT test gives students a sense of the format, question types, content, and time limits that they will encounter on the SAT. Additionally, the PSAT test serves as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The PSAT is administered to 9th, 10th and 11th grade students in the Fall. Once we have the Fall 2026 PSAT dates, we will add it to this page.
The SAT is a standardized test that measures a student's skills in three core areas: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. Students in grade 11 take the SAT so that they can submit their scores to colleges as part of the college application process. Please check the Wood River High School homepage for more detailed information on the upcoming SAT.
The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. It is currently administered by ACT, a nonprofit organization of the same name. The ACT test covers four academic skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. It also offers an optional direct writing test. Wood River High School does not offer the ACT. Please see the ACT website for more information on dates and locations near you!
The Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) is a statewide summative assessment given each spring to all 11th-grade public school students in Idaho. It measures student proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA), mathematics, and science based on Idaho Content Standards. The test is computer-based and includes adaptive questions and performance tasks. Once we have the Spring 2026 ISAT dates, we will add it to this page.
