Amanda Mestas
Student Service Teacher

I began working at Wood River High School in 2022, bringing a deep commitment to student success and inclusive education. I grew up in Durango, Colorado and attendant Fort Lewis College. I moved to Idaho in 2013 and have since dedicated my career to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (K-12). To better serve our students through evidence-based practices, I earned my Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. This specialized training allows me to look at student development through a behavioral lens, ensuring every student has the tools they need to thrive.

When I’m not at school, I am likely outdoors or at a ball field. My favorite “hobby” is being a baseball mom, I spend much of my spare time cheering on my son from the sidelines.

Watching a student master a skill they once struggled with is the most rewarding part of my work in Student Services.
