Candace Burnikel, Medical Technologies Teacher

I am an Idaho native and happy to be back in the Gem State. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Idaho, majoring in Education with an emphasis in Psychology and Health Science. This path led me to work in wilderness therapy in South Carolina, as well as in hospitals and schools in Boise.

My journey eventually took me to Seattle, where I earned my Master’s degree in Acupuncture and went on to run a small medical practice for nearly 20 years. After relocating to Texas, my passion for lifelong learning inspired me to continue my education, and I completed my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Integrated Medicine in Austin, Texas in 2020.

I love introducing young people to the wide variety of careers available in healthcare and I am passionate about teaching students how to live healthy, balanced lives and become the best versions of themselves.

When I’m not teaching or learning, you can usually find me at a live music show or spending time with my pug and my cat, Toto.
