I’m honored to join the Wood River High School team as a special education teacher, bringing over a decade of classroom experience and a deep commitment to helping students discover their strengths and grow with confidence. I recently relocated from Eastern Idaho, where I lived in an agricultural community known for its potatoes and the winding Snake River. I’m thrilled to be back in the Wood River Valley, I spent a summer here briefly nearly 20 years ago, and while the area has changed in many ways, so have I. It feels meaningful to return with a fresh perspective and the opportunity to work in a district I have long respected for its dedication to students with special needs. I hold both a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s in Human Exceptionality (Special Education) from Idaho State University, I’m proud to be the first in my family to pursue education beyond high school.
Creativity plays a central role in my classroom, where the focus is on building functional life skills, encouraging communication, and supporting students as they grow more confident and independent. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren, and retreating to quiet spaces that recharge me, like my cabin tucked among the lodgepole pines in Island Park or my yurt near the base of Borah Mountain.
